Default Drivers Door Mirror Switch

Just a quick thank you to the forum for the How To on cleaning the contacts on the drivers door switch pack.
It had stopped working, the guide showed me exactly what to do and although it didn't look to bad the contact cleaner did take off a fair bit of dirt.
The amount of fluff in the window switch was also a revelation!!
Stripped down, cleaned up, put back together and connected up. Worked first time.
Living the Rover dream!!!

I did this overhaul recently following the "How To" on here, only the adjustable mirrors weren't working on mine and now they work perfectly.

I know the "How To" is available to all fee of charge but for me just this one small improvement alone is worth paying the £10 subscription for. I'm sure if I took it to a garage then 99% of them would have said I needed a new switch pack at £100+.

I paid my first £10 after a similar problem where the How To saved me £££s and since then the Club has saved me more than £10 every year.

I may have.

I’m in the process of buying my first 75 - pick it up on Tuesday. I know the mirrors don’t adjust and I’ve acquired a spare switch in advance. If I can fix the original, the new (secondhand) one will be available.

I fitted the replacement switch and found the mirrors would go up, down and left, but not right. Took the old one apart and cleaned it - all good. I then cleaned the replacement switch, but haven’t tested it yet.

I can test it later today and let you know (PM).

The new car is great. Lots of little jobs to sort. I’m currently trying a repair on one of the rear lights (tourer). Planning to take it to Pride of Longbridge in three weeks.

Yes, give it a go.

I used Servisol contact cleaner and a cotton bud.
