Broken down - Inertia switch? (UPDATE)
Hi guys
I quickly popped out in the car. When reversing the car just cut out and hazards came on and I got a message on the display saying Inertia switch. Now, the car won't start at all. Can anyone help me diagnose the issue and how to fix it? Many thanks. Last edited by Ravinder; 9th June 2016 at 10:48.. Reason: update |

Thanks. I can't seem to find the switch. I've got the black panel half off but struggling to see up it. I'll keep looking.

If it's on your diesel Rav, check your plenum isn't flooded

Thanks. Plenum was clear when checked about a week or so ago. Still can't find it and I have no tools. I've called the AA now. I hope the fuel pump hasn't gone.
What would cause the inertia switch to trigger, if that's what it is? And is it likely to happen again? I want to prevent this from happening in future. Thanks. Last edited by Ravinder; 5th June 2016 at 19:18.. |

After fault finding an electrical fault a few weeks back I too struggled to see anything in the fusebox in the passenger dark foot well, There's now an LED torch in my glove box
Hope it's an easy fix & get it sorted Ravinder.

Hi guys
AA man has just left. He has checked the inertia switch and it is already down position and hasn't tripped. He then checked the under bonnet fuel pump and he suspects this is the issue. He also plugged his diagnostic machine in and its coming up with an error regarding fuel pump and pressure. So, is it likely that the under Bonnet fuel pump is the culprit? Could it be the other pump at the rear? Many thanks. |
