Schotten,

I sended you a PM about Kufatec.

I agree with you Keith. They demand a lot of information to produce the right cable loom, but as I did, everything I received was in perfect order.

I'm not sure about the "trimble" and aerial Schotten mentioned. But I do miss a connection to the remote control of the steering wheel. Also do I have questions about the global positioning unit wether I need it or is build within the BM24 radio.

Regards, Ralph

Trimble is not required for MK3 or MK4 computer
there is an (interface see my howto pics) between Bordmonitor and steering wheel control, standard BMW part

GPS unit comprises sat nav receiver and cd reader in the same unit plus the external GPS antenna

Thanks Keith, think I've confused Ralph over trimble unit! I've got (I think) a MK3 Rover navigation computer (I've seen that on the back where the blue and purple connectors fit 'CON MK3/BMW' to be exact) so it's a MK3!!?? Does this need a trimble unit or is this included inside? I take it a Rover MK3 is the same basic unit as a B*M MK3 (minus software tweeks etc), so I can tell Kufatec I've got a MK3 unit !!! Confused or what? Ralph the Rover part number for the remote interface unit is YWQ100031, hope this helps and let us all know what's the outcome!!! Oh, I suppose the Kufatec cable comes with the connection for this interface??

Guys,

The interface connection for the remote controle of the steering wheel didn't came with the cable loom. But I think I found the alternative on e-bay (came wit this forum elswhere):

Maybe I can connect it between the adapted iso connector

What do you think Keith?

Got it, thanks Keith

I already have an existing module for the remote. Have to find out how to connect it to my new cable loom.

It is nothing complicated look at the wiring diagram
Iirc Two wires in from the steering wheel, Orange Blue, I think plus power ground and a connection to the K bus

Simple

I have just looked at your picture above
What are the two Grey wires for at the HU end my guess ABS and Reversing switch signals?

The harness should also have a plug for the Remote control interface which makes me wonder what that spare plug is for at the TV tuner end?

I was thinking the same thing Keith, there should be another cable and connector for the remote at the HU. Is perhaps the two grey wires for telephone mute, or would that not have been at the radio unit end in the boot?
That's where I'll be putting mine with an extension cable for the phone cradle up front assuming of course that it can be done as I intend to use the existing radio mute cable I have at the front with B*M connectors at both end which goes in between the radio harness and the ISO adaptor harness. I reckon that should work with the phone kit in the boot this time. Time will tell, now if I could get hold of a genuine Rover sat nav harness then the headaches might be gone......... or just starting!!!!!!!

Does this answers your questions?

It's for my car kit or mobile phone mute. NF+ and NF-
The spare plug at the TV-tuner end is for my CD-changer, to mount in the boot, but mine is in the dash, so I have to lengthen it. It's different on the picture of Kufatec shown as a spare plug at the end of the radio BM24 unit. Haven't figured that out yet.

Regards, Ralph
