That I have no idea. All I know is at the time it was cheap and that was because my car was the 1st 75 he had worked on

IMHO there's only a couple of alternatives here:
Get a T4 session done to find out what is actually going on OR Contact CivilSteve and get a rolling road session. Otherwise you're just guessing and changing stuff willy nilly to try and get it sorted. Yes, it's likely that you're MAF is duff but a T4 will tell you it is, or it isn't and they're not a cheap thing to be buying 'cus it might be kaput.
