I spoke to the lovely lady up at City Wheels last year, they have no problem accepting wheels sent to them via a courier, all I do is pay for the shipping both ways and they send them back to me. 4x Wheels refurbished £20 each =£80. Shipping cost £35 x2 =£70. Total £150. My local robbers want £85 per wheel, that's £340. I still make a saving off £190. Go figure... |

I had a set of genuine Cooper mini 12" minilites done (c.1990) and they had to repair one that had road rash by having it welded. 4 days it took and £105 all in at CPC a few weeks ago.
Just need a mini to go with them now! They are on ebay as Ive just purchased a van to stop abusing my Golf. |

I'm thinking of sending mine down by courier as well, but have the added problem of finding somewhere to remove the wheels and tyres and store the car in the meantime
Or maybe I should save my money and buy those LED multi-coloured motion-detecting lights instead!

Much as I LOVE a bargain - is why I have my car! - not finding anywhere to take off my wheels and store the car whilst sending off the rims has prompted me to get them done locally. I've found a refurbisher that will do all 5 wheels for £230, I just need to leave the car with him for 2 days. Not quite as cheap, but acceptable.
Anyone want to suggest the best colour to have them painted to go with my Firefrost Tourer?

Hi Steve. I do the same to mine, including the black panels down the side of the windows. I use Autoglym Bumper Care. You only use the smallest amount on a piece of cloth. Lasts for ages.
