Default need help or Mobile mechanic Birmingham

I have been doing some work on my 75 and it needs a new track rod end, so I brought one and tried to fit it. Well due to arthritis and a dodgy knees I failed I just dont seem to have enough power to get the locking nut lose to remove the old one.

I am willing to pay anyone that can change it for me, the car is on axle stands and the wheel is off and its in my garage but without any strength it is going nowhere.

Have you tried a blowtorch on the locknut? Plenty of heat and good fitting spanners will usually shift them, as it expands the nut on the thread, freeing the rust.

Peter, before you give up hope try this

Two hammers on opposing flats of the locknut, one for action, the other reaction, then a 22mm open ender on the locknut, and a 19mm open ender on the flats of the TRE.

Now squeeze the two spanners together, and the TRE should come free allowing it to be wound off the track rod.

Best of luck, this method has yet to fail me
