Default Washer Pipe Join?

Just under the bonnet hinge on the drivers side, the washer pipe does a sharp loop, then goes up to the bonnet. I noticed a leak. The pipe was cut there and joined with a short length of metal tube ( no clips ) which had shifted. Has someone bodged this, or are they all like that? I've fixed it with a coil of lockwire around the ends of the rubber pipe, to make it grip.

Default bonnet

has the bonnet been replaced at any time ? this is the usual trick done to make the bonnet changeover simple. it could be of course have been a minor leak in the rubber pipe where it is secured by the black retaining clip. a weak point if not enough slack pulled through on the pipe. it wont make much of difference to the washers operation if you get some good clips on the hose if its still long enough.if not get some rubber tube and extend the pipe and position the join further along....

Originally, the pipe is a continuous piece from the pump to the T-piece.

Thanks for the info folks. I'll have a look in my motorcycle spares for some carb pipe clips to make a more permanent repair.
