Default key cutting saga

hi guys
just enquiring if our key cutting gurus have managed to evolve into other
motors as iv'e lost my key to the mrs range rover and I dread phoning land rover any help would be much appreciated, lucky enough I have always thought the same as marinabrian that only having 1 key is not very sensible so I will renew asap one way or the other. jonno

What year and model in the Range Rover, you may well be surprised

I ordered a key for a Freelander direct from Land Rover, and it was only £85 and all that needed doing was to code a replacement 17TN remote fob to the BCU.

It was supplied cut and would open and start the car..........bit more information would help perhaps

Ah, an L322.....well the EWS is located under the centre console to the right hand side of the gear selector assembly, and just like the 75 and ZT models I can programme a replacement transponder.

I can't quite remember if a second hand key remote can be programmed to the BCU, but you could quite cheaply produce a key which would at least start the car

Brian

You can get a key blank cut to fit the car HERE

Does your key look like this ?

If it does, it will more than likely be a standard BMW type HU92 blade, but the seller I linked to will be able to sort the mechanical part of the key I'm sure

well brian, my thoughts of landrover were correct, £185 for key plus £75 plus v.a.t for coding. the buttons on my key are not the same as your showing but I'm hopeless at sending photo's but will persevere.jonno

2006 RR sport is a L320 , similar underpinnings as Discovery 3 . I understand a used key can be programed with the right kit .
Have a look at https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/
