Default Trailer Wheels

Thinking of buying a small trailer for my fishing tackle, size of the wheels are 155x70x13.looking on the bay trailer wheels are being advertised at around
£60, do you think a wheel off of a small car would fit they seem to going for around the £30 mark.

The only problem you would have is finding wheel with the correct PCD ( Pitch Circle Diameter ) to match the hubs on the trailer.

Depending on the trailer, the tyres and wheel are often heavy duty to take a greater weight than the equivalent car tyre and wheel . Be worth checking that any car wheel is strong enough.

I think were only talking about a small baggage trailer here, but worth taking into account.

This evening small trailers only have a capacity of a couple of hundered kilos so a car wheel will be more than adequate.

When you get the trailer just measure the the distance between the centres of two opposing holes on the wheels and buy accordingly. Be mindful of the centre bore also.

Being a damn clever dicky I made my own trailer & used the Ford Granada stub axles & wheels I broke for spares for my trailer.

If you lived nearer you could have borrowed it anytime you liked

I can remember the days when people used to make their own small box trailers using Mini rear stub axels ...... but they are now as rare as hens teeth ....

I remember a friends dad made his own, he was a time served carpenter, it was all polished wood and perfect joints.
He spoke about selling it many times and I asked him time and time again about it saying I'll give you £100 for it ( was a lot at the time ).

Went round there one day and was chatting to him in his garage and noticed it was gone, I said " wheres you trailer?"

To which he replied, "oops I forgot you wanted it, and sold it to a neighbour for £25" ...

How much fishing gear have you got that you need a trailer for it

I had a trailer in my motorbike days. Used to go fishing up the north west of Scotland, none of that trying to strap everything onto the bike, just throw the camping gear in the trailer and away. Got some funny looks towing the trailer with a motorbike though! I've got photos somewhere but can't for the life of me find them.

I have a Tourer with very low mileage and pristine condition don't want to get the inside dirty.
