Looks good Brian , has anyone ever changed the facelift dials with the darker middles from white to amber lighting ? Just wondered what it looks like as I have all the bits in the garage

So along with the facelift dials, it has amber backlighting, and it works better than the white in my other facelift Watch this space Brian |

I certainly agree with you about 1976. I remember how I felt after sitting driving a lorry in those scorching conditions. I had a Daimler V8 250 then and on holiday in Towyn Wales we stopped at a Mrs Griffiths, and all night there were three storms raging, thunder and lightening all night. I bought a plaque of a deer with a thermometer on it, with Dolgoch falls picture on. Coed crafts, hand made in Wales. On the back of this plaque is this information:-1976 best summer for years, 11 weeks 95 degrees day and night. Top temperature was 115 degrees outside. Ahh the good old days.

Of course it's not normal. The situation in Chisinau was critical yesterday: fell nearly 1000 trees and more than 10000 trees were damaged... now is better, sunny and +8C.
Usually in April are +15C. Some pictures from yesterday in my town Even my parents don't remember something similar in last 50+ years... |

I got my hands on a Harman Kardon set, I already had the tweeters.
Today I fitted the sub and the Harman Kardon grill for the sparcel shelf. I have to fit the HK amplifier and cabling, that will be happening next weeks. First I am gonna adjust the cabling so I can get the set easily out in the future. I am curious how the system will sound than, and if you hear a good difference with the sub.

Unfortunately the quality of the photo is not very good, was made with a iPhone 4. Hopefully you are getting the idea.

Took the ZT in for a service and inspection today - turns out the almost brand new VIS motors had packed up.
Luckily I still had my spare VIS motors from my last MG that I repaired, so fitted the power VIS and sorted the balance motor that is on the car which didn't appear to have any issues (a Mad Monkey PCB - different board to my original one) so cleaned it up and realigned the butterfly flap and all appears ok now - like a different car! |

Today I removed the n/s front strut and fitted a new top bearing. Then replaced the boot on the hub ball joint. I had one in stock.
I changed the gearbox oil using Rover MTF94. Changed the engine oil and filter. Adjusted the handbrake at the drums. Noticed that the drain hole in the rear spring pan was blocked. Trikey's top tip of the month. Refitted the sill carpet trim thingamajiggy on the drivers side. |
