what is the situation with new rear upper arms?
There has been threads about poor quality and manufacture of new rear upper arms. What is the current situation with new upper arms, is there now a source of good quality correctly made upper arms?

Hi Ian.
There was speculation that new ones were in the pipe line ? but ever since the poor Indian ones have been sold by 99.9 % of the sellers I have not seen any of the newer reformed one s for sale. Such as these below I have also noticed the price dropped, maybe because they can not sell them? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-M...2/184117033699 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-75-...cAAOSwpIBecLIf These are the only original ones I have found on a search. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-...wAAOSw5nJeMHH4 Again caution is needed here as it is only showing one arm not the two, therefore ask question and read all the listing, it states only one arm is genuine MG make, the other Xpart which I suspect it Indian made. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-...wAAOSw5nJeMHH4 Why would anyone fit a good genuine one and a poor Indian one ? now if a genuine one could be found then its worth purchasing the genuine one. I am sure someone whom is better in the know will come along and explain better.

If you look at DMGRS I think you'll find they now offer some "properly" manufactured arms, at a good price too!

Jason they do but only have them for one side, and in a small amount, I am sure Matt can inform us if he sees the thread.

Arctic, looking at the links you have provided am I right in thinking there is a problem with the location of the upstands for the drop links?
Were there any other problems with them? My saloon does not have an anti roll bar at the rear and so the up stand location does not matter if it does not hit anything Thank you for the links and hopefully DMGRS will indeed come onto this thread macafee2 |

Mat from DMGRS has just responded about the rear upper arms I ordered last October, and I quote
“ Good news - we’ve got delivery from our supplier confirmed; they’re currently being packaged onto our latest container of stock which is to due to land with us late May/ early June as initially planned.” Watch this space. Last edited by Rod; 15th April 2020 at 10:19.. |

Hello all, sorry I've only just found this!
The arms we have coming over in June are indeed original MG arms - we had a huge batch of these back 'in the day' and the quality is as close to the original arms as we're going to see. Both sides are due in but in very limited quantity - we can offer a pair of matched MG original arms at £159.99 including free postage. Currently we have 7 pairs left of the batch we have arriving in June. If you'd like to order a set, please get in touch via PM or email and we'll arrange it for you. To be fair to XPart, while the Indian arms aren't the best, they seem to fit OK and do the job. The SAIC MG part is definitely better made, though.
