I also fitted the inline thermostat, but found the temp gauge never went passed 7.30 apart from under load on the motorway. As soon as the load came off, the temp would drop and so would the MPG 34mpg!!!!! Rubbish.
So i have also replaced the standard thermostat!! so effectively running both, the motor heats up quickly in comparison and the gauge remains at the 9 O’clock position without fluctuation!!!

The most impressive part of all this was 51.3MPG on a very steady run home, 50mph for the most part.
