k-series cylinder head (1.8t)
How'do folks
I'm considering replacing the cylinder head on my 1.8t - rather than doing valve repairs if a replacement head is fitted i can take my time reconditioning my original head as a spare. I can source a brand new head with valves fitted - or a reconditioned head with valves, tappets and camshafts. i'd love to have a Brand new head - however i feel reconditioned (pressure tested etc..) would be a better option r.e Camshafts - on a brand new head, would it be as simple as swapping over my original Camshafts/Tappets ? making sure that each tappet goes on the correct valve and pairs with the same camshaft lobe ? and, with the reconditioned head - are there differences in the camshafts fitted to different applications of the 1.8 k series - i.e would a Landrover Freelander 1.8 head have the same spec/profile camshafts as my 1.8t 75 ? from what info i can find it seems the Freelander and the 75 use the same part number. Paul. |
