Default External Mic on WINCE unit

Hi all,

I have read that this can be done, has anyone actually fitted an external mic?

I'm thinking a surface mount socket on the back and something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pioneer-G...cAAOSwxGRZiYEc

Would that work okay?

Anyone have any pics or details of taking the unit apart?

Thanks

Tim

Got mine up in the front central light unit r/h/side.
On my Dynavin unit there is a fly lead coming out of the back of the unit with the 2.5mm socket for the microphone.
I am using my old Nokia hands free car kit microphone.
Sorry no pics.

So, quick update, bought a twin mic like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01EFEI7..._IARcBbZ58W1TJ

Had to strip the unit down as there wasn’t a surface mount 3.5mm socket. Just soldered in a fly lead to the red and black mic connections on the PCB at the front.

Positioned a mic at the top of left and right A posts. Now sounds great. Very pleased, we’ll worth the efforts.
