Lights ON line feed for driving DRL’s
With some help from threads on this club I have now drawn up a circuit diagram and most connections to drive DRL’s I have purchased for my car. I have a small DRL’s control unit that can dim the DRL’s when the main lights are turned on ( a legal requirement I see) . Basically , the Control Unit has :-
Input : - • positive line - I plan to use Glovebox fuse 16 ( Accessories , Switched active with Ignition) • negative ( earth) line • a Dimmer Control line - connect where ??? Output :- • Positive/dimmed line to the DRL’s • Earth It is the Dimmer Control line I am having a little ( my brain?) problem with. I want to drive this from a point that is high when the main lights are switched on . I :- • had hoped to use fuse 40 ( 5A Exterior lights) but , studying circuit diagrams for 75's , I now think this is always 12V ?) • Suppose I could tap into the cable going into the Side lights – LH Red/Black wire , RH Red/Orange wire • Would prefer , however, to piggyback from fuse in the glove box fuse set I know a number of club members have sorted this out so could anyone guide me on this last feed point ? All the best. |

There are no fuses for the lighting circuits you need, they are monitored by the electronics in the light switch module, the cable is direct from there to the relevant light.
