Default Satnav Discs ejecting

Have a hi-line sat nav. Radio/CD/computer display works fine. Red light on disc drive in boot lights up when you open the boot and one of the units by the spare wheel whirrs away. Bought a cheap ebay map disc, disc loads, more whirring noises then spits it out. Satnav option on screen greyed out. Lesson learnt I thought. Bought expensive proper map discs from Holland, disc loads, satnav option enabled on screen but then just get a wait message whilst it thinks about it. Disc drive then spits the disc out and back in again several times before I just give up! Any ideas please, bearing in mind I'm an idiot who doesn't have radio keys to remove units and other stuff I've never heard of! I've already fitted new light seals to prevent a very small amount of water ingress I had but it really was only a very very small problem and I don't think the units have been flooded at any stage.

Does the red light go out after a minute or so? If it does, try a battery reset.

It is possible to remove the drive without radio keys, I managed it with cocktail sticks

Yes the light does go out after a while. I'll give the battery suggestion a try, many thanks.
