Default Austin Montego 2.0 Vanden Plas ( NON EFI ) Genuine 23k!!

Sadly its time to shift on another project of mine, Lost interest in the car and if im honest im more an MG person, so sadly im selling my Moonraker Blue Montego Vanden Plas.

Bought late last year, I have done 1.7 miles in the car ( From the transporter to the house and moving the car every so often)

Genuine 23k from new, and i have every MOT since it was new, also the owners manuals etc. Its not Taxed but its mot'd to the 2nd of October 2010.

12th September 1988 - 4412
8th September 1989 - 8710
31st August 1990 - 9646
6th September 1991 - 11247
4th September 1992 - 11915st
6th September 1993 - 12862
3rd September 1994 - 13872
30th August 1995 - 14712
21st August 1996 - 17233
1st September 1997 - 18105
3rd September 1998 - 18661
1st September 1999 - 19135
4th September 2000 - 19683
19th August 2001 - 20014
2nd September 2002 - 20328
13th August 2003 - 20829
23rd August 2004 - 21363
30th August 2005 - 21884
4th September 2006 - 22391
5th September 2007 - 22711
3rd September 2008 - 23200
3rd October 2009 - 23346

Currently 05 June 2010 -23352 ( Only 8 Miles since the last MOT! Of which 1.7 were with me.

I have the Original Vehicle Registration Document With the Keeper C W Wash, the Husband of the wife i got the car from.

It says 4 former keepers however it was
1: C W Wash
2: M M Wash
3: S J Golder ( Myself )
4: G A Golder ( My mum) Was put in her name as i couldn't insure it! So only 2 owners. Originally husband and wife and then myself.

The car itself is solid. it had some surface rust that i sanded back and treated and painted with a rattle can. One one of the doors theres a few bubbly bits, I was going to get the lower half of the car painted professionaly when i still had interest. The Front bumper is cracked, however i have a spare bumper here in Moonraker blue ( although its scuffed, Better than Cracked though) to go with the car. Rear bumper has a scuff too. I have as i said a Front bumper to go with the car, i also have 2 front wings and a rear boot from a Moonraker Blue VP Montego aswell.

The heater matrix pipe has rusted and was patched up. Id replace it if i could.

If i was to keep the car i would have all four arches and sills painted. For those who know me and saw my previous Montego ( H767KGM ) Will know i am a perfectionist and i have my cars at very high standards. Most would not want to paint the arches and sills as they look fine.

The car has a lovely Bounty Blue interior with lovely Rachelle style Ice Blue velour seats. The interior is pretty mucch mint. The drivers door pocket has a crack though.

I am describing this car as best as i can and i hope the car will go to a loving home and treasure the car.

I will be putting the car on ebay if it doesnt sell on here with a slightly higher price.

I am open to offers around the £595 mark taking in mind the mileage and condition. I have more pictures available for anyone who is interested.

Oh that brings back some memories, I owned one of those about 20 yrs ago in black was a lovely drive with light grey leather interior. Sadly someone drove into the side of me from bonnet to bumper and it was game over. Good luck with the sale someone will get a great car there.

Looks like its in cracking nick for its age. Wish I had the cash to buy it for my dad, he used to love his Montegos in the 80's.

Memories for me too.

Had a C reg Monty (Estate) when I met my wife.

Also, while still a trainee, went out selling Montego on it's launch. Still have some of the launch documentation, and a tie and jacket.

Have too many cars already, but it's in gorgeous nick. Good luck with the sale.

My dad had a stunning white MG Montego and he absolutely loved it ! it eventually started to sucumb to the rust so he put new arches on it but a year down the line it was rotting again so he had to get rid of it, he gave it to my brother inlaw who promptly bounced it off a kerb and into a pole

It is a lovely car & if I had the space & money that is one example I would add. I really need a huge barn as I would love to collect loads of Maestro, Metro & Montego variants.

My MG Montego is having it's extensive service currently
