Thumbs up

The discs are regularly updated! They are expensive though! (about £100 or more!). They are made by "navteq" . There are usually some second hand ones for sale on e-bay. Sometimes for sale on here too! (I bought one a few weeks ago from this site!).
As for the Jaguar C.D. fitting , I very much doubt if it will fit! Take a look on the navteq web-site, or buy a second hand C.D. from e-bay.

Hello Neil and welcome,

Try this for £69 (probably less than you've paid for a tankful of fuel):

On the Navteq site you can get the UK and Ireland disk for £89 or the whole of Europe for £135. I do not think this includes TMC which is a bit irritating but then neither did the Leyand boys when they took over Rover from BMW.....

Here is the address http://www.navigation.com

Historically (2001) Teleatlas used to be dreadful - might be less bad now

I've been using the TeleAtlas 2009/10 for six months now and it is OK. It occasionally suggests a shortcut that you just know is not going to be 'Quickest', and it's irritating that the road where I live is spelt wrong, but certainly not 'dreadful'.

Frankly I use it more to see how far still to go than for actual directions.

The major routes of Europe disc comes free with the TeleAtlas UK-Ireland so I'll be giving that a try in August.

I got an update disc from a (maybe) dubious source not sure if it's good or bad mapping is pretty much up to date but it suggests some pretty bizarre over long routes (example Oxford to Grimsby............. partially via the M25 clock wise if you are not sure where Grimsby is in relation to Oxford check this out on a map!!) also anyone know what on earth are the white triangles (sometimes but not always with integral arrows) on the map supposed to mean?
