Question Cruise Control not working

Hi there,

This week I got a new problem that my Cruise Control is not working anymore. I've been through the search that most people said the problem might be the white cruise control switch on the top of the clutch pedal. Unfortunately, mine is automatic.

Someone did mention that the automatic should look for the switch on the top of the brake pedal. I do see a switch behind the brake arm but it's black. I think that is the brake light switch as I tried to push it forward, the braking light was on all the time. So, my question is

1. Where is the white cruise control switch?
2. For the automatic, are the cruise control switch and brake light switch the same switch? as I only see one black switch.

Richard

Brake and cruise are one switch, and as you have a V6, start by checking the vacuum actuator on the throttle body

could be the cruise ecu. Replaced one last week for a local chap who's cruise control hadn't worked on his v6 for about 10 years, and also replaced mine on my v6 last week as the cruise on that wasn't working since I got the car. The ecu was at fault on both of these cars.
