Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I've just bought my 75 and one of the things that attracted me to it was the wheels:

I've not seen any others this colour though - is this a non-standard refurb? It came with a set of silver ones as well.

Don't think that is a standard colour, but whatever colour they are Serpents are a real pain to clean! I had the 15 inch version on a Rover 25 some years ago and never looked forward to cleaning them.

I think they suit the car really well & as already said, I don't think they compromise the comfort.

They look like they have been refurbished in shadow chrome.

I had my star spokes refurbished in sparkly gloss black (to offset the firefrost red bodywork) and must say for my 75, they are the business! Serpents are ok, just look a bit 'busy' for me, and I prefer clean lines...ymmv.

However, I believe they are only available in 17"...?

Hi Aldeburgh and welcome to the club ! Your car looks very nice on those wheels

17" Serpents were available on both the Mk1 and Mk2 (facelift) models, the earlier cars had them painted in Sparkle silver while the facelift examples were finished in Liquid silver.

Yours look to have been refinished in 'Shadow chrome', a colour that was only ever available on MG Apex 18" alloys.

Keep 'em polished....

can't beat a nice set of Serpents (except with a stick, as my old neighbour used to say)
