Carpets flooded

Hi guys, today as I entered the car, I noticed that for my LHD R75, the footwells from the drivers side and the rear seat behind the driver's one are flooded up to the carpet, the carpet was soaking wet. As I pulled the carpet up after removing the driver's seat, I found about an inch of water in the footwells (noticing again that I have a LHD car, hence the driver's side is on the left). I've had water in the boot about a month ago but the problem was that the seal going around the boot was misplaced in a spot and there's where the water was slipping into the boot, fixed that and the boot is all dry now. I'm 100% sure that the water is rain water (it rained heavily for the last 2 days in Italy where I live). Besides the boot, plenum is also not flooded and cleared out of any blockages, any ideas what this could be?

Had the same problem, same side, took ages to locate but thanks to one of Arctic's posts discovered that rain was collecting on the far left scuttle clip with nowhere to drain. Have a look at your own car after pouring some water over the windscreen. Off with the windscreen shroud and sealed the white clips that the scuttle clips fit into. Dry even since.

No sunroof, and just lost 2 of those scuttle clips 5 minutes ago as I was trying to check the plenums again, will this make the situation worse if 2 of the scuttle clips aren't there at all (if the problem really comes from there)?

Had the exact same thing.
Scuttle clips don't enter the car . So no worries
Drivers side plenum must have water inside and leaking from under dash . Il bet your car is parked tilting to the left . Get the blockage cleaned it's under ECU on passenger side under scuttle it's a right royal !!! To get to while it's out Change pollen filter.
Carpet will soon dry if you put heating up

Just put some tape over the missing ones for the time being. DMGRS have got new ones. If you look closely at them you'll notice a small cut out where I think water can pass.

I'm only wondering, if the plenum for my left hand drive car is on the passenger's side, how can the water that was possibly stuck in there overflow all the way to the driver's side? It doesn't really make sense, the passenger side where the pollen filter and the plenum chamber is, is completely dry, or are there more plenum drains, and on the driver's side too?

EDIT: Just checked the plenum drain again now in daylinght (the one in front of the pollen filter on the passenger side in my case), and it is clean, poured some water in and it goes right through, the only thing I noticed is that it doesn't have the rubber nozzle or grommet or whatever you call it on the drain hole like I've seen in other pictures around here, but that couldn't be issue for getting water into the cabin right on the opposite side (driver's side in my case), or could it?

I`ve notices a few days ago the same condition on the carpet, but on the passenger side and behind it.
My 75 is also a LHD, with a sunroof. I don`t know where to look to check if it is sealed properly.
Yesterday I`ve checked the drains and a plenum and it all seemed to be clear. Of course there were bunch of leaves under the pollen filter which I vacuumed out.
Scuttle clips were all in place, although I cannot fit one back in, the center one, So I`ve taped the hole for a while.
It`s going to rain for a while here in Serbia, so It`s going to be difficult to check further.
Any more ideas? (air conditioning fluid? Can that be it?)

I’m afraid it won’t dry in situ if it’s had a good soaking, the foam backing holds lots of water.

Bets way is to remove the carpet and dry it out of the car, if you leave it wet you risk damaging the side airbag sensors due to damp.

Under the dashboard, passenger and drivers side, you will see two plastic drain pipes, one each side, these past through the bulkhead.

Have a look and you will find they will be loose and need sealing in place.
