Fitted replacement gold resistor to the cooling fan - worse part was getting the two small screws out which held the original mounting plate / resistor to the fan, who's idea at Rover was it to use screws three times longer than they needed to be........

Whilst the front was off, also gave the headlamps a polish

On Karen's car I swapped the interior bulbs for led's, fitted the sensor for the wipers and fitted the cover, then swapped over the Rover 75 clock for a brand new zt one, at last it looks right.

Did nothing really except put a few personal items in my newly acquired 75 and then stand and admire it.

It's been 3 years since I sold my 2.5 Connie and replaced it with a 3.0 S Type Jag. I have really enjoyed the Jag but have always had a soft spot for the 75 (this is my 6th) and have continued to regularly visit the forum. It was on one of these visits that I saw Roverbarmy advertise his 2.0 V6 for sale and I just had to have it!

It is good to be back with the Rover and I will be a regular visitor again now for sure.

I gave the NUK an hoovering out, and did the weekend checks, tyres, all fluids checked, i was going to wash it but decided to sort out the four manifolds that needed cleaning.

This is what came out one the rest were more or less the same, i then left them soaking over night to clean today.

Absolutely nothing - just relaxed in anticipation of Andy (trikey) coming back to finish off practically replacing all the front suspension components on the CDT.

Why stress when the Master is not far!

Pulled the engine and gearbox out of the 190 last Friday.
Everything went well until it was time to remove the driveshafts.
Tried the L/H shaft as suggested in the manual and there was no way it would let go of the hub. (Yes the pinch bolt was out!) I tried many forceful and violent means to get it out then gave up and switched to the R/H side-same issue!
I reached the point where I was about to get the angle grinder out and cut the shaft. I was lying on my creeper taking a breather and idly rotating the hub and strut when I noticed that at one point in the rotation the bottom pin did didn't rotate with the hub. Hmmm...I turned it to that point and inserted my trusty 18" (500mm) wrecking bar and out it popped!
30 minutes later the engine and gearbox were on the storage dolly and I was pouring a rum and coke.
I am so glad I wasn't left stewing on the job all weekend, or cutting the axle.

Update on the new car; The train has been delayed and will now arrive on the 17th so I should have the ZT-T a day or two after that. And, arrangements have been made for the wrecked ZT to go to it's final resting place (My mate Jess's place) shortly there-after. It will be nice to have a Zed to drive again!
