Default Vertical blinds

If you might be considering getting light coloured vertical blinds, to dim the sun in a room where you use a PC or a TV, don't they are hopeless. Dark coloured ones might be better.

That is all

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Horizontal (Venetian) blinds are much better, afterall the sun is in the sky and not to the left or right of your windows.

The problem is when the sun shines on then, they light up. They stop the direct rays fine, but they still let far too much light through the material itself.

I have wooden slats on horizontal blinds, light only comes in through the gaps between the slats if partially open. Had vertical blinds many years ago and yes light did shine through the fabric slats. Mind you that was 1984 and very few home computers about in those days.

I would agree with that,we have white ones in the conservatory, and even with them all shut, its still far too bright in there when sun shines. we could do with roof blinds, but they cost a mint.
Also have the same on living room window, when sun is low and trying to watch tv,sometimes even have to close the curtains, they're good for privacy, but as you say ,don't block out the light.
