Morning Jeff, just seen the kitchen windowsill is awash with rainwater too I had that back wall re-pointed but it's not much different. Weather warnings out for persistent heavy rain & local flooding throughout the day A bacon & egg toasted butty is on the cards now that the cats have been seen to.

For the time being I'll be putting pans on the windowsill to catch the drips until I can find out why & where the high wind is forcing rain water through two course of brickwork It only happens when the strong wind & rain blow in from a certain direction.

We had the blown cavity wall insulation done & had the brickwork re-pointed & I dread to think what a soggy mess that insulation looks like now.

My money would be on the window sealant around the frame, or missing completely under the frame (commonly missed when being fitted!). Wind pressure then forces the rain past.

It’s been raining here at Newcastle all day until late afternoon.

Had the phone call I was expecting a short while ago.

My Nan passed away (aged 99) peacefully this afternoon whilst receiving end of life care at the home she was in.

We also received a call yesterday to say one of our close family friends also passed away on Saturday after a short illness.

Not the best of starts to 2023!

Sorry to hear that Jeff, I lost my mum at start of August, so I know how you must be feeling.

Yeah I think you're right about the window frame. It's also coming in about a foot above the window frame too, The plaster is really wet up there
