An advice call please people; I'll keep it brief; A line manager has passed a comment about something. This comment was in my mind inappropriate; a few years ago I was set on fire. When the manager asked about some scarring I told him briefly what happened. This morning he said "Good morning, has anyone set you alight today?"... Any advice would be gratefully received. I'm not now in the best of moods...

Morning one & all - I was looking forward to my bowl of porridge with added Golden Syrup - until it exploded in the microwave, totally splattering the inside with globules of almost cooked porridge
Now, being a Senior Citizen - do I
  1. scrape it off and eat it?
  2. waste money and make another bowl?

Stu - my opinion for what it is worth - I would suggest stage one is a quiet word in the offenders ear, along the lines of "As the incident involved was obviously traumatic for me, I don't think jokes about it are really acceptable" - no hackles rising yet hopefully. If you get an apology, all's well. If no apology, and more similar comments, you have to go above said person's head with a proper complaint.
Have the best day you can - Rod

Thankyou very much Rod much appreciated. On a lighter note, which option did you pick regarding your porridge dilemma?

Mmm. Yummy!!

Having been born in Yorkshire myself, the answer is of course, i'd scape it off and eat it. That way it helps to mix the syrup into the porridge.

Regards

Mike

Hello again Rod

I'd love to know the outcome of you decision. Are you going to keep us in suspense.

Mike
