Thanks everyone,I kind of had this in the back of my mind for a while, and had sort of prepared myself for it, but still a shock when it does come. I was just speaking to the care manager yesterday and he was coming out to do the assessment on Tuesday. At least dad got what he wanted, to go at home, and not have care, fiercely independent right to the end.

Morning Richard,

From what you had told me about your Dad, I think you are right and he got his wishes to depart this place on his terms.
Take some comfort in that in itself being a blessing and how we would all like to be in control over our own time when its up.

I know things are going to be busy with all the arrangements and I know you will all be hurting like mad but please take comfort in knowing that your Dad will have been so proud of you looking after his welfare to make sure he was getting the help that he needed.

If you want a chat you've got my number Sir.

Ros and I are thinking of you and your family at this time and send our love and condolences.

Good morning all.
Not been in here for a while, sad, sad news about Rich's dad.

Been up since 5, my son has gone on a school trip to Holyrood to watch First Ministers questions as part of his Modern Studies lessons.
I told him to give Mrs Krankie some stick!
