If the key turns then it is usually one of two things.
1. The cable that connects the lock assy to the what we call dog bone connector bar ( because it looks like a dog bone ......sort of ) has failed.
2 The said bar hasn't been replaced after a door mechanism replacement.

Do you have tow bar ??

If so you can put power in through the pins in the socket.

If you have I can tell you which pins to use.

so now I have a car with a flat battery, keys that don't work, a wheel off, the liner pulled down and I STILL CAN'T GET IN!!!!!!!

has anyone got any ideas please, now getting fed up and have cut hands!

Sounds like a job for cabba or is it Kabba lock cleaner this is the best stuff on the market a couple of pumps per lock twice a year will keep things working well. Their most complicated lock had a useable barrel length of 22mm which had 38 multi position pins.
These were replaced by the 20 and the 8 work it out for your self.
These locks were usually installed in swimming pool locker rooms which had THMs up in the 30 to 100 ppm range. Things don’t come much more hostile than that. Please do not be tempted to use WD40 or anything along those lines as fish oil os sticky stuff and attracts dust and dirt, a good way to jam up the lock.
I warn you all now this stuff is not cheep it will usually set you back about 20 pounds for a little tin and plastic hose. This is the best stuff I have found for keeping locks serviceable and not just car locks.
Hope you get in soon
If not remove the engine undertray and you will be able to pi+k up a live feed and a piece of metal to connect to to connect up the battery charger then after four hours your key button should get you in,
New battery time and a good service of all locks.

Hi.
I'd jack the car up as Trikey says and connect a charger to the positive lead and chassis. Sitting for two months will flatten the battery of its not that new due to cold and the electronic drain.

I know it's frustrating - advice on checks and regular maintenance are more for other users reading this thread who may be thinking - 'what's the best way to avoid that situation'. These bits of preventative advice aren't a criticism of yourself at all, rather a helpful list of list of preventative measures helpful for all: - and while not directly helpful to your present predicament will hopefully give others the nudge to do something before they end up in the same boat. There's plenty of useful advice for your immediate situation being given as well.
