Im sure someone would know, sadly the Newcastle Brewery doesnt exist any more, its now brewed in Tadcaster.

Good wet morning all - bah gum it's sopping today. Can't believe how quickly the snow has melted - it's virtually all gone, even the huge mound I dumped in the back garden.
On the subject of the strength of old fashioned Broon Ale - I'm pretty certain it was originally in excess of 6%ABV - nowadays I think it's only 4.5%ABV - so a fair bit weaker.
I'm off to Wickes to buy a couple of interior doors - cheaper in-store than on their website

It’s moved on from Tadcaster now rich, they make it in Holland!

I have it on good authority that Newcastle Brown Ale was originally 6.25%ABV and is now 4.5% ABV - so definitely nowhere near as strong as it used to be
