I've had a busy afternoon fettling one of my desktop computers, I've replaced the video card the other day & installed a new (used) hard drive which had the defunct Win 7 on it.

I copied the new Linux Mint (Sylvia) 18.3 onto disc & installed it onto this drive. It's very fast on this older PC & works a treat.

Also trying out some of the new apps (PIX) for uploading pictures which is much easier to follow than the other App I was using.

Oh very enjoyable Ian, what a treat Bon appetite
When I returned from the UK mid February, certain quarters thought I was a tubby. Since then, my main meal of the day has been home made vegetable soup. It varies from beetroot soup to beetroot with carrots, sweet potatoes, onions and lots of garlic. I lost 2 stone in 6 weeks. It must be helping, if only I had more will power.
Unfortunately there aren’t any Toby restaurants here: The soup tastes better than it looks.

Not defunct yet, I'm still using it in preference to W10 (which I also have) and still receive updates for it.

Evening Phil, It was very nice indeed, in fact Morrison's do a whole range of meatballs which look very nice, I was tempted by the Mutton or the Lamb with mint ones.
They do a lot of the cheaper cuts of lamb for hotpots etc and they carry Bury black pudding too. I think I'll split my shopping up between them & Aldi in future.

That soup looks very hearty I too make quite a lot of home made soups over Winter, they're far better than the tinned variety.

Cool

Polished off the rest of the cottage pie I made yesterday. Whilst doing the washing up I saw a gritting lorry go past chucking out the grit. Bit strange seeing as we have sunshine with a wee bit of cloud. We must expecting some white stuff then.

I wasn't sure when the Win 7 OS updates finish,is it this year? I personally prefer Linux over Windows myself and the new Linux Mint 18.3 fits the bill for this PC. My other PC will be getting upgraded to the new Ubuntu (Bionic Beaver) 18.04 when it's released on the 26th April.

January 2020 I think but probably longer for industry and governments if XP is anything to judge by - XP support is still ongoing for embedded users until 2019 believe it or not.

Morning Troop's, a dry, calm start to the day here. I'm trying to decide what to have for tea tonight. Decision's, decision's, decision's
