Ditto here.

I'm off to have my aircon serviced - £50 at Kwikfit was the best deal I could find.
Just glad I haven't got a 17 plate onwards (or in some cases, 14 plate onwards) - they are fitted with different connectors for the aircon, and the refrigerant is now totally different too. Garages are quoting around £200 for a service - and that's only those garages who have invested in the new kit that is necessary. Local Kwikfit don't have the gear!!

Progress Why do they allways muck about with things.
Just a way of generating more money.

It's better for the environment - they say.
This article explains what has changed.
It appears some garages and various Kwikfit type places are reluctant to buy the new equipment which is necessary, and to pay for the new refrigerant which is approximately 5 times more costly than the older gas. It's a double whammy - those garages that HAVE invested seem to be in a minority, and charge a hefty price with no discounts. Those that HAVEN'T got the new kit are even pushing up the cost of the older type service, on the grounds that manufacturers are reducing production of the old gas, thereby forcing up the price too.
Perhaps we could invent a new form of maintenance free air-con - in my day it was called "a quarterlight"

Mates eh!, I woke up Monday morning to my mates trailer on the drive filled with scrap metal He rang Tuesday night saying sorry he was stuck & he'll remove it Wednesday at 8:00am sharp, it's still here on closer inspection there's a dismantled spectacle towing frame in there, I hope he's not taking that to the scrap.

Just made an Hotpot in the slowcooker for tea tonight

Morning, been a bit mental here, mainly thanks to this:

Meet Maya, the latest member of the family. 9 weeks old and daft as a brush. Suzy thinks she's wonderful, Poppy is yet to be convinced and tends to give her a wide berth.

Morning all, a blustery, chilly start to the day here. Managed to get a few outdoor jobs sorted yesterday while it was sunny. Cottage Pie for tea tonight with baby trees (broccoli)

Woken at 6.30 by Poppy, crying by side of bed. Ignored her until 7,then got up to take her up to paper shop.Tried to read paper and have my cup of tea,she is still crying, gave her a full dish of food, she swallowed that down, then started crying again. Took her out for another long walk, peace at last.

Maya is getting her confidence now, trotting around exploring as if she owns the place! She absolutely adores Suzy, follows her everywhere. She managed to cuddle up next to her earlier:

Pops still avoids her like a bad smell though!
