Been trying to keep an eye on a young Blackbird that I presume the wind got the better of. It can just about fly but only in the direction the wind carries it! Trouble is Pops spotted it and it flew over the wall into the front garden. I can still hear it chirping among the plants and I saw a kinda frantic female (Mum?) going around calling. No cats around here but no shortage of Magpies that would have it.

Took Ging about seven hours to get to The Lakes! Waited hours while they organised buses from Carlisle. Apparently the line will be shut the rest of the day while the overheads are repaired.

The wind has totally died down here - and the only rain during the day consisted of about three droplets late morning.
Spent the day wandering around a National Trust property - Trelissick, near Falmouth. The stately home itself wasn't anything flash - but the grounds had some lovely walks - and some of the largest trees I've seen for some time.
A bottle of Thatchers Green Goblin to accompany tonight's Quiche Lorraine and salad - strawberries to finish, following on from a coffee and a Cornish Cream Tea whilst we were out.
I'm going to have to cut down - I can feel my belt getting tighter by the day

Good evening Rod, great write up!

There is a way around to cutting back if your eating the right foods for making gas....cracking one off or dropping a silent deadly type A study suggests you smell your partners gas. The stinky ones are the best to sniff and if possible, keep your head under the bed sheets at night for maximum benefit. The stinky ones, are thought to lower the chances of getting a heart attack, stroke, dementia and cancer. Here is the study:

Cool

Good morning to one and all from wall to wall blue sky Saltash. First good nights sleep for a long time. Percy Thrower aka Allen is coming back today to get the garden and parking area tidied up. I'll carrying on getting the house ship shape. New curtains to go up as well.
