Love what you've done with that photo - please forgive me for correcting you, but that's Staithes (pronounced locally as "Steers") - not Saltburn
I think you probably shot it from the little footbridge across the river?
It's changed nowadays, but once upon a time, a large percentage of the families living in Steers were all called Verrill.
Capt. James Cook the explorer spent some of his youth in the village, as an apprentice grocer and draper. It is thought that the everyday exposure to the sea gave him his appetite for sailing the world as an explorer.
Evening Rod, I am happy to be corrected by you any time and any place Ah ha! Seriously thanks for pointing me in the right direction

Rained most of the afternoon here, quite heavy sometimes, will have done the gardens some good. Finished on the coaches now for the summer, apart from a wedding do on Sunday night.
Unless of course Im needed for a job before then. Back to my own work next week, hoping to build my experience doing family and friends carpets during holidays, then unleash myself on my customers.
