I'm off to hospital this morning - for them to sort me out, rather than visiting my sister. I'm at long last getting the flamin' skin tag taken off my eyelid - it will be a relief to no longer see it hanging down in front of my eye, and causing my eyelid to droop due to the weight.
I thought I was having the op. in late July, but that visit turned out to be a form filling exercise; I was then told there was a 4 month waiting list - and then last week got a letter out of the blue telling me to be at the clinic for 0900 this morning. Mind you, I am apparently number FIVE on the list for surgery, so it could be a long day.
I'll see you all later - and hopefully more clearly too
Good luck, I had mine taken off just below my right eye, took twenty minutes.

And some stitches.

Well - I'm now "skin tagless" - on my left eye anyway
'twas a long winded affair - I arrived at 8.45am for my 9.00am appointment - and then spent 3 hours sitting in a plastic armchair in the waiting room. Once in theatre, I didn't enjoy the anaesthetic syringe going into by top eyelid - and the smell when the surgeon used heat to cauterise the wound after snipping off the offending dangly bit was 'orrible
There's a certain amount of soreness there, and my eye keeps on watering but I'm assured that'll clear up over the next few hours.
I left the Eye Day Unit and made it to the opposite end of the hospital just in time to be brought up to date on my sister's meeting with the Oncologist

Blimey! Freddie, That gearbox is putting up a bit of a fight, I hope it's all sorted out now.

Little Maya is turning into a real character. Her latest thing is she's made the connection between the beeper on the oven timer and food. When it sounds she runs through to the kitchen, peers through the glass door into the oven then looks at me "its ready Dad!"
