Looking for a local engraver, guy I've used in the past sold up a while ago, dunno what the lot that took over his jewellery shop are like. They have a website shown "under construction" but there is an operating contact us option which I used but my enquiry wasn't deemed worthy of a reply, puts me off right away! There's a local Timpson's but they're jack of all trades! Might have to end up going up town.

Bit of a nothing day here - overcast, but not wet; not warm, but not cold either; not windy, but not totally calm either - a "do nothing day" coming on I think - don't want to commit myself to anything in case the weather changes and spoils my plans, so I'll adopt a watching brief in the armchair

Wandered into "The Pans" to get some odds and ends. There's a small shop that does sports trophies etc, thought I'll ask about engraving, just get an idea about cost etc but as usual it was shut. I have no idea how the hell he makes money, seems to please himself when he opens. I've emailed a detailed drawing of what I'm after to an engravers in Edinburgh, one of the few that still does hand engraving, see what they come back with. I don't want to give the job to any old place as its a bit special.
