It would no longer be a Rover 75?
Take the engine out and put a hairdryer motor under the bonnet and it would lose its appeal for me. I am old school and still wanting a v8 under the bonnet

As odd as it seems if I put my 260 into the emission checker for the London low emission zone there will be no charge.
I know when it goes for its annual test the emissions are very low to the point the tester last year thought there was something wrong with his machine and recalibrated it. As far as changing the engine you could end up with a Q plate, there is some stuff you can do to car but when you change some items you basically turn it into a Kit car and them all the rules change. My son drives a kit car and I know his car is exempt as '' they have no way of knowing what year the engine came from'' Things are changing rapidly out there on emissions and I suspect once all this Brexit thing is sorted there will be many changes some that will affect us more than others. I know some Cities in Europe don't allow cars over a certain age with out paying a large toll/fine. The answer is to drive historic cars( over 40 years old) They are exempt on all emission charges and they can be driven with no MOT and free road tax. |

Unfortunately the 40 year rule does not apply to kitcars - as I was hoping to resurrect my Ginetta in a few years time.

I just saw a coachbuilder on Youtube make a Tesla Model S shooting brake estate.
Now that is my dream car. Not sure if the conversion was £60k, or whether the car WITH the conversion was 60k, but I suspect the former. |
