Jules. I always take my sat nav, but I deactivate the speed camera action. And in over thirty years going over there, I have never been stopped. Just keep to the speed limits, it’s quite easy if you try. There is no restriction on dash cams as far as I know. They can not be used in evidence as far as I know. I have one in the front, and one in the rear..

I know it’s only a few hundred miles round trip of driving on the wrong side of the road but do we have a recommended list of spares to take ?

If so rather than each take a boot load maybe we could have a list of who’s carrying a spare whatever ?

Great idea, maybe Trikey or Andy Willi could advise on the most likely failures and spares it would be appropriate to take.

The most important spare to carry is a FULL sized spare wheel and make sure that your wheel nuts have not been overtightened by the gorilla at the tyre centre. Another thing that may save some time is if you use locking wheel studs replace them with normal studs.
Maybe a cam sensor and ancilary belt would be a good idea.
Cheers

Should be obvious, but often forgotten, is the spare ignition key. If travelling with a passenger, give it to him or her just in case. Also swap photocopies of your passports.

On the matter of fuel, it is a 'must' to tank up fully before you leave the UK (Tesco's Superstore near Ashford not far before the Tunnel off M20, maybe?). The UK is as ever the cheapest fuel in western Europe, apart from Luxembourg. Holland is just about the most expensive in Europe. Motorway prices are almost never discounted, and eye-watering:

Belgium end even France are a bit better, but those expecting at least some discount on Premium 97/98/99 octane petrol will be disappointed. Generally discount pumps only have cheaper prices on Euro 95. Generally they only have 95 Octane, LPG and diesel anyway, as do most "A-brand" pumps. Those who's cars have acquired a taste for 102 will find it is available in and around Eindhoven, near Boxtel, but you will have to Google it.
