which is still good numbers but buy 2022 there will be none operating at that point if this carries on.

When comparing to a newer car you also have to take depreciation into account - we've reached the point that the cars don't depreciate, people who ask why we spend £500 on repairs ignore the £1000 theirs has dropped in value during the year.

The E-type is iconic. The Rover 75 And MGZT will become iconic. Perhaps not in my lifetime, but in the lifetime of some of our younger members on here.

Ok i have dug out the MG & Rover models survival rates, it has been noted once a car dips below 14000 cars per model, its hard to spot them on the road, when spread out over the country.

MG operating LEFT still on the road within Great Britain

MGTF- 11441
MGZR- 6100
MGZS- 3163
MGZT- 5045

Total MGs from MG rover left 25749 ( Note the MG3 on its own has 14000 units) so these numbers are low for 4 models

As you can see these are not Rover groups, but MG Rovers, only the R25/R75 have visible road numbers to spot on the road now and the R25 is barley above the 14000 units to spot on the British highways. Rover 75 being the strongest contender, however MGZT less fortunate losing cars quickly now, most likely in accidents as the MG badge with some people means full throttle. Key year going forward 2022, as even the mighty Rover 75 will not be common then, the last of the visible Rover marks.

I wonder at what stage the inability to get parts will make running MG-R's untenable? I've only had problems sourcing a 200's wiper motor and gearbox mount so far. Up until now breakers seem to have a few examples of these cars, but as they disappear off the road these will dry up.

Spain was the first export market in UE to Rover, and now you can see now very few 75 on the roads.

I live in Santander and work 45 klm way my home, i drove my 75 daily and i know only 3 more, one facelif blue, one MK1 old English white and a Blue MK1, all connosieur top of the range. The rest if you see second hand webs are normaly not in very good sape.

I agree all, only 75 owned by people that is taking care are still in very good running conditions , the rest are more near to be scrap sorthly

Will be a classic car, yes in my opinion more even than the X or S Type and my intention, as the rover is still very good car is to try to keep it running as much as possible, has pass all ITV (MOT) with any single problem and has 224.000 klm.

Personally, I don't care how many or few cars survive. Cars are for driving and enjoying whilst they are capable of being driven and enjoyed.

I would keep a car whilst it was broadly original - IMO the current limit is somewhere between 20 and 23 years from new. I am not really a fan of cars that follow "trigger's broom" or well known celebrities' philosophy to maintaining structure and shape.
