Default Key problems

I have a 75, 04 plate. I have both keys but both housings are damaged.
I can open via the lock on the drivers door and start the engine.. my question is ....what is the chip that is at the top of the key. Only one of the keys I have has one ...
I need to get two replacement keys but am confused what I need.. do I need to get anything reprogrammed? To my mind I don’t as the car starts using the key I have, so is the immobiliser chip still in there??

You absolutely need the transponder chip to start the car otherwise immobilised.

Brilliant thank you. I’ve got that bit but not the small silver bit to the left of the battery in your pic..
that’s saved me a fortune 👍
