Hi John.
Personally I would not pay anymore until you get a definitive answer as to when you will get your items.

If your answer is not forth coming within a few days lets say the end of the week, I would be asking for a full refund, then you can purchase from else where. I would say that is not unreasonable.

If you do get an answer and the time date passes then again go for a full refund.

I do not like this pay up front or pay half deposit system to much can go wrong, if you do then pay by card or pay pal you can then claw it back hopefully, of cause this is only my opinion.

PayPal is definitely a good, safe payment system when buying over the Internet - it's my preferred option, as it protects me (from chargebacks etc) and the customer (if the goods don't show up).

Not specific to this issue, but here's a few tips to help protect members when paying for goods online:
- Don't use the 'friends and family' option as you'll have no recourse if the goods don't appear.
- Remember the 180 day deadline from date of purchase - after this you won't be able to make a claim.
- Keep a copy of all communication and invoices etc, as PayPal will want to see these in the event of a claim.

I hope this at least helps someone out there.

Well I'm not sure of the arrangements etc, but shipping from China over to the UK including loading and customs etc is usually around 8 weeks - so over 180 days is a very, very long time.

Again, I'm not casting aspersions on other people's way of doing business, but it's a long time.

I order stuff from Aliexpress all the time and delivery can be 7 days to 28 days. Rarely does anything take longer than that!

Is that a bank account, via a bank transfer?

Hi Mat, People can still raise a 'Chargeback' with their credit card company even though they paid via Paypal, a 'Section 75' claim may be more difficult, but its still possible. People do get confused between Chargeback and Section 75 claims, there are rules and regulations involved which need to be followed, but its all very straightforward.

I hope this helps...
PayPal and Chargeback Claims.

I would advise anyone to always contact their bank/card provider to check their cards T&C's.

I myself had to raise a chargeback claim via a PayPal purchase, this was using my Amex card, one of the best cards available. I also had to help my mother perform a Chargeback when her initial PayPal claim failed, the PayPal adviser actually advised my mother to raise a chargeback with her card company. If only she came to me first, it would have saved so much time.

I would also advise anyone to always clear their PayPal balance, have zero funds and use their linked credit card instead.
