Default Blue ATC, why not standard on MK2 ZT?

Just fitted a Blue ATC to my MK2 ZT (Thanks MDMH757 for the unit) So why did they never fit a blue one as standard to the Mk2?

I like the blue, but I would its my car

Because it's a bit hard on the eyes in the dark perhaps

Or perhaps it was simply down to cost

I agree Brian

I do find the blue hard on the eyes after a few hours and I am usually reaching for the dimmer at night. Maybe green or orange would have been a better choice?

BMW did a lot of research to find the best colour for instruments to be seen without strain , I think orange was best followed by green.

Having gone from a Mk1 to Mk2 ZT I'm still not sure about the blue lit dashboard, i don't know what was wrong with the white dials of the Mk1

Blue doesn't work for me at all. It lacks subtleness which is what interior lighting is all about in a car of some quality.

Too brash I'm afraid.

That's a good answer and fair.

Refined is my middle name!
