Default Coated brake discs yes or no

Hi I was looking at mercury discs and wondered about getting them coated from the factory( black, gold, silver). So what’s the opinion on this, good or bad ?
Thanks

The ones I’ve seen are still looking fresh years later so I’d say it’s a good idea.

I've just put Ferodo Coat+ on Mo's back wheels. Not looked at them yet and she's done about 350 miles so far. Too early to answer your question but I didn't like the last new discs going rusty in a week

Ive got genuine Motorcraft discs all round on my Focus and they are coated black. No or little rust after 2 years and if the paint comes off due to jet washing etc a thin coat of satin black lasts for another 12 months.
