In the news today, more (accurate) info re UK motor manufacturing and reasons to adjust perspective. Ford Chief Executive Jim Hackett (how apt?) produces figures about intended readjustment to its longer term attempts to achieve a return to profit in the coming years. The American firm says it will be closing factories in Germany, France and Russia by the end of 2020.
Earlier predictions in the industry were vigorously blamed on political events in UK and were apparently damning. Now it seems, unless the States mentioned are to undergo similar upheaval as yet unreported, there may be other more relevant factors involved. Figures are: Total in UK...…………………………..3100 jobs Germany...……………………………..5000 France...………………………………...1000 Rest of Europe ...…………………….600 Russia ...…………………………………2200 So, twice as many job losses in EU (exc. UK) than here. It’s all gone a bit Pete Tong on that front. Strange.

Ford really have been bankrupt for years. I agree with your comments about ‘political’ events in GB. Whatever is/has gone wrong, then that is the cause.
