Default V6 strange running

OK started work on the Duotone tourer today

New oil and filters; new plugs; new lower mount; new Rad cap. All good and no leaks

however when she starts she is running at very low revs indeed; blip the throttle and she revs great and then on the overrun the revs drop almost to nothing. Can also stall at this point. Also I would say running on the rich side.

Could this relate to malfunctioning vis motors?? Or what else?? Olde fuel??? Its been very neglected. I shall be putting the interior back in tomorrow I think as its dry now inside

VIS motors shouldn't affect idle. I'd clean out the AICV first, it lives on top of the throttle body. There's a spares replacement kit available.

Bosch ones; it was doing it before too. Thought they might have been to blame and the old ones in the back had been there an age (the front were new!)

Ed used to do this when cold, but a set of NGK Iridium plugs sorted it!

Assuming the cam timing is correct, it looks likely it's the idle control valve. Sounds like it's stuck closed (or failed altogether)
Plugs would cause it to missfire, and contrary to popular opinion, k series aren't sensitive to plug types.

Like Rogerd says, get a throttle body rebuild kit from rimmers, dead cheap and easy to fit too, this will sort out your problem.

Thanks chaps; I have one of the kits in the garage I think; will take a look later on. Seems a consensus has gathered and it should be easy to fix

When she is back together and running properly I will get Wyn over to the shed to plug in his magic box!
