My understanding has always been that he designed the car to have a small gap between the tyres and the wheel-arches but that the production car didn't turn out that way.

You don't have to be driving it the whole time to enjoy it; you can just look at it! Were my hallway large enough, I'd have one sitting on a turntable on permanent display. I've heard of people that do actually display a Vincent, or a bathtub triumph (amongst others) in a bay window or other prominent places within their homes. I don't know of anyone with even a mini or (let's say a frogeye sprite) in their hall way. I'm too old now to re-mortgage, so I can't create space to move a 75 indoors, but what a lovely idea. I have on my computer, photo’s of someone’s house, I think it is in Italy, who has many rooms which are full of various cars. But no Rover 75. There are R.R. Maserati, Countach, Aston Martin, and some classic yank tanks. It must be a collection of millions£.
