Replacement key!
I have a 2002 Rover 75 Connoiseur 2CDT auto here in Southend on Sea, Essex, and the fob which came with it had a hole where the unlock button pattern was. I bought a new fob and transferred the 'carbon' chip and pcb to it and also soldered on a new unlock switch to the pcb so it all sort of works(lock and unlock remote). I had to remove the old blade from the damaged fob as Timpsons wouldn't touch the blank blade, but had to file it down a little at the base to fit the new fob and it does wobble a bit. This worries me as although I can remotely lock the car fully, the front door locks need a bit of tlc as they do NOT operate on the unlock switch, I have to open the drivers door with the wobbly key manually, and the passenger front door with the inside opening lever! What I am really after is getting a new remote control key and fob sometime in the future. As I have a (just about) totally working key and fob, where can I get help to replicate it? I have tried a PM to Phil-T4 but he doesn't accept PMs for some reason!
