Default Overdrive

In the 1960's I had a Sunbeam Rapier 3A with Overdrive on 4th gear. With the flick of a switch it kicked in, like cruise control really.
it was a pretty cool feature to have in those days.
It had the name of Laycock de Normanville overdrive.
Anyone remember them?
I think some Rovers used them too.
Here is a photo of mine, the unit is to the rear of the gearbox.

Kev.
