Post Highline Nav CD jumping out

Hi all,

Anyone has had this experience? now and then, with no apparent reason, the navigation CD gets ejected from the unit in the boot. No shocks encountered by the car, no mishandling, only day to day use as usual. The CD is ejected as soon as I unlock the car. Every time I start the car, I must verify and eventually re-insert the CD. It has not been ejected so far while driving.

Regards,
Majed

It is most likely because there is a read error during booting, as the CD reader will read the CD the first time you "activate" your car after standing still - ie. when you unlock the doors, boot etc.
If there is a read error it will eject the disc.
Check the disc for scratches, dust, grease etc. You can use a mild detergent to clean it for dust and grease, but if you have scratches you may be "up the creek ...". However, you could try bying one of those CD restoration devices for PC - CD's that will polish the surface. I have never done that myself, but have read about them in PC magazines.
Otherwise you could try to make a copy from the disc, again using a PC and a good copying program. As you are the owner of the original CD, this is a legal operation as long as you do not distribute it to other people.
Good luck.
