Default Double din units.

Always fancied one, but the cost has always been a bit nippy for me. Perhaps not so much now with alternatives available.
The other thing that put me off slightly is the sense that I have (not sure where I got it from) that these things need to be shut down 'properly'. Ie you cant just turn the car off at the ignition and leave it at that; there is a shut down process for the unit before you 'turn off' the live feed.
Is that right?
Cheers

Nope,

The latest versions of the Navall unit stay on for a few seconds after ignition is switched off and then close themselves down.

The original Navall 1 unit was a bit sensitive but that was resolved in a firmware update .

I can't answer for other brands but I'm sure it will be much the same for them as well

yup they have a `safety` feature built in to stop damaged to the units ROM.

Not sure on other makes, but the ones I have will say active in a sleep state (which can be changed) so if you turn the ignition back on again within the set time the units come to life straight away, no boot up time required.
