Default Random Wipers!

Anyone know why my wipers would decide to start 2 or 3 seconds after the ignition is switch off and removing the key.. Can only stop them by removing the big fuse F1 or 3(cant quite remember. Also coincidentally, the four way flashers didnt work yesterday upon locking and opening the car by remote.
Any help will be a help!!

Have you recently fitted a new head unit, sound system? The wipers having a mind of their own is usually a symptom of the permanent live and switched live being reversed when fitted a head unit.

The other thing worth checking is the plenum, make sure the drains are clear.

Wet ECU? Have a look in the plenum chamber.

Actually, Ive not fitted a head unit but it has been playing up a bit with the screen showing flickering and scratchy looking! The radio continued to work fine regardless of the display!

Is the central locking working as it should?

Hi Big Russ. Yes the CL is working fine at the mo but to be fair, it also has had some random glitches going on! All these things - wipers/CL/four way flashers with CL/reverse sensors come and go with glitches. Later today the wipers completely righted themselves after the car stood without the fuse for four hours! Crazy stuff. The only thing Ive had a proper go at is the reversing sensors. Took the whole loom out of the bumber tested each wire and each sensor. All seemed OK. worked fine for a week then intermittent fault again - the usual long beep. Im not that bothered about them though. Its the wipers that worry me!
