Talking RAC Cover

I had my RAC cover renewal through this morning, loads of spiel and a renewal price of £85.99 for Roadside, Recovery and legal.

I called them up, told them that I wanted a better price, they went through what cover I needed, made sure that business use was included for my van and offered me Roadside, Recovery, business use and legal £68.79.

I didn't even need to offer to cancel first, very pleased.

Yes I do it every year. £88 for me home recovery. I did use them in March for the first time. It took them 2 hours 20 minutes to get to me. This was mid-week 2.30pm in the afternoon and good weather

In which case, use www.quidco.com and get cashback each time too, as that is what I usually do. Just this time it was cheaper without swapping and using cashback

I also had a renewal notice from the RAC it was 230.48.
After telephoning them it was reduced to 162. 20.
I was happy with that so I went with them.
I do have at home coverage, Legal, garage parts and labour etc.
I find it disgusting that they do not give you the best price on the renewal letter. Just like insurance you have to look around and make a few calls for the same reason. The insurance companies and the RAC seem to have no respect for loyalty any more.

My renewal letter said the price of the cover without renewal discount was more than stated on their website.

All a bit naughty really.

Remember, breakdown companies are just another form of insurance, treat the renewal just like an insurance renewal and shop around.

Im with the RAC club discount and all that, £96 for recovery and onward travel etc. I had to use the RAC when my clutch went and I have to say they were great, they couldn't do enough for me.
